Established in 2024, Wellness Together: A Community Revitalization Day for King West was created to highlight the diverse aspects of wellness present in King West. This area of Toronto has progressively become a hub of wellness experiences, encompassing everything from fitness to mental well-being. Today, King West proudly celebrates its commitment to holistic wellness for the entire Toronto community.
"Wellness Together: A Community Revitalization Day" brings you a range of health and wellness
modalities, from physical fitness to mental well-being, at two beautiful park locations. Enjoy a
variety of activities suitable for all ages and fitness levels, and discover new ways to live a
healthier, happier life
We have chosen to support the Daily Bread Food Bank in Toronto as our charity of choice for the Wellness Together event due to its unwavering commitment to alleviating hunger and reducing food insecurity in our community. The Daily Bread Food Bank's comprehensive approach, encompassing food distribution, advocacy, and research, aligns perfectly with our event's mission to promote holistic well-being and social responsibility. By partnering with an organization that directly impacts the lives of those in need, we not only extend our reach to support vulnerable populations but also underscore our dedication to fostering a healthier, more equitable society. This collaboration reflects our core values and reinforces our collective effort to make a tangible difference in the lives of Toronto residents.

We acknowledge the land we are meeting on is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.
We will treat one another with equality, politeness and respect at all times and, if we are subjected to or witness discrimination*, bullying or harassment, we will speak out knowing that our voices will be heard and we will be taken seriously. Together we can create a Safe Space.
In 1783, Lieutenant Governor John Graves Simcoe created Toronto’s first European cemetery. Simcoe’s infant daughter, Katherine, succumbed to fever in 1793 and was one of the first to be buried here. The final burial occurred in 1864, when the cemetery was full. The site was subsequently converted into public space known as Victoria Memorial Square and has been maintained by the City of Toronto as a public park since the 1880s.
In the late 2000s, several heritage features were added as part of a park improvement project. Features that exist in the park today include a narrow rectangular granite border on the lawn, which represents the footprint of the cemetery that contains approximately 400 burial sites and 17 of the original grave markers on the east side of the park.
The date is approaching fast and we’re making preparations. Don’t miss out!
